With the Ancient Red Dragon, Agatheron vanquished, and all their companions dead, Sir Gwain and Wang Du wearly march back to the Firbolg's village.
Met by the recovering McDagger and Lothar, Sir Gwain and Wang Du relate their final battle with the Fire Giants and the Dragon.
After their full recovery, the remaining party members along with the Firbolgs explore the remaining fortress in search of the fabled treasure hoard of Agatheron. Eventually it is found and it is, indeed, beyond imagination. This long chamber is filled from end to end with unimaginable wealth. Gold is piled knee-high and speckled with jewels, weapons and artifacts of ages past - truly a dragon's hoard.
With the help of the Firbolgs, the treasure is mined out.
Without much need for treasure, the Firbolgs accept only a small portion, preferring to live simply and peacefully in the mountains.
Wang, Sir Gwain and McDagger head south to the village of Litafjord only to find it a charred ruin including the Keep of Lord Boomish, who was laid to rest in near the Firbolg's village.
Abanding the village and heading south, they come across the the innkeeper of the Craggy Inn and his dwarven wife. They had left the village when they saw the dragon coming down the mountain.
Wang donates a portion of his treasure to the innkeeper so that they can start anew.
They all travel south to the village of Berkenstoke which was destroyed by in the Dragon's wraith. The sturdy townsfolk had already begun to rebuild the village and once the news of Agatheron's death spread there was a big celebration in honor of the other heroes that died; Wolfheir the Viking, the priest of Mithra - Su, Grop the mighty wizard, Todashi the samurai, Thenus the ranger, and Arg.
Sir Gwain and Wang donated gold to the rebuilding of Berkenstoke and headed west to Blackmoore, which was also in ruin.
As donations and rebuilding began there, Sir Gwain and Wang said their farewells for now and choose separate paths to travel with the hopes that some day their paths may cross again.
This is a blog that records notes for our Swords & Wizardry Campaign so that I can remember what the flip is going on!

Session Notes
The vile demon of the tower has been defeated and the portal to Hell has been shattered. Skwanky, the Little White King / Wererat / Wight, has been slain and his body scattered into the Realms of Hell. Minimus has been buried a tiny cemetery near the tower, where also is buried Alar the elf.
K'saeya and the Perenth Elves of Grimmwood have been impressed with your valor and are forever in your service - in fact, they have even warmed up to Torvin the Dwarf and Arg the Half-Orc and Veleda the Halfling.
The tower has lost much of it's dark atmosphere and the forest around the tower is slowly returning with life. In fact, at times, you can hear the joyous songs of the Three Big Titty Tree Bitches floating through the air of the woodlands.
Your companions, Fermina the warrior, Liedrada the Magic-use, Veleda the Halfling warrior and Antiope the thief have taken their leave to head back to Berkinstoke with the news of the Red Wizard's fall. Perhaps you will meet up with them again some day.
Living in the tower has afforded you time to examine things more closely and that is when, behind a tapestry in the plush room on the first level, Centari and Tovin discovered a hidden doorway, beyond which are stairs leading down into darkness. But that is a tale for another day...
The session ended just a week into Autumn on the 13th day of the Month of the Griffin.

Session Notes
The Red Wizard has been killed and, through a magic gazing pool, there appears to be a very powerful dragon controlling the wizard. It is unknown what the dragon's motivations are but it seems to have to do with the lands south of the mountains including the lands of Blackmoor and all of Eri'an.
Spending the first couple of days in the tower, recovering from wounds and smoking the fine tobacco and drinking the fine wine and ale left by the Wizard, initially puts some of you at ease. Evenings, however, have proven troublesome as all of you continue returning to the same hellish dreams of fire and torture which become more intense as the nights go by. In fact, it becomes so bad that one by one, each of the party eventually moves to the edge of the forest and set up a permanent camp only returning to the tower during the day. The only ones that don't seem affected by the tower, and in fact, spends most of his time obsessively going through the library and studying is Centari and Gimp the Imp.
No new explorations have taken place in the tower. No sign of Skwanky or Minimus has been found and some of you worry for their well being.
Things of note:
Plush room ground floor: The fire in the fireplace never goes out, in fact, it seems to burn regardless of there being wood present or not. The floating candles never seem to diminish. You've smoked through most of the tobacco but the pipes are of fine quality, as are the tapestries and rugs.
Plush room 2nd floor: Besides the blood stained rug where the wizard was killed, this chamber is just as fine as the room below it with the only thing of note the chess set with pieces of carved ivory accented with gleaming gems.
The Armory ground floor: There are several suits of Plate armor covered in dust and there is a faint sent of mold lingering in the air. The weapons have been cleared out previous.
Library: Centari, studying through the books discovers a Manual of Golems.
Alchemy Lab: No potions were found but many ingredients were. With the regents and time, a potion of invisibility and healing can be created, one each per week, up to 3 invisibility and 5 healing. The liquid in the cauldron is observed to be viscous grey and appears as liquid stone.
Wizard's Bedroom 3rd floor: No more research has been done in the Wizard's bedroom. Only the Wardrobe mysteriously stands unexplored with the magical writing above the door: "Open to the Master".
The Summoning Chamber 4th floor: The magical writing in the alcoves still glows and crackles. Centari can dispel the magic over time but doesn't want to. Gimp is all for leaving the writing as is and Centari agrees. The rest of you avoid this entire floor.
The Gazing Pool 4th floor: No other visions appear in the pool. The 4 candles are still floating above it.
Hall of Mirrors 4th floor: The swirling misty filled portals are avoided by everyone!
Roof: The expensive looking telescope is still pointed to the smouldering mountain pass far to the north.
In the Wizard's journal was found this strange entry:

1 Beholder: 3,800
3 Gnolls: 90
3 Bugbears: 360
Total monster XP: 4,250 each
Treasure:
Gold and merchant items (tapestries, trinkets, etc.): 1,120gp
Gems: 465gp
Jewelry: 449gp
Total GP Value: 2,034 gp divided amongst party (6 I believe). That will also be the amount of XP you will receive from the treasure which comes up to 339xp each
Quest Reward: 1,000 xp each
Totaled adventure XP for each party member: 5,586 each
Tim, when Thenus recovers the bow she had gained from before the alternate reality thingy, it merges with the very same bow that she gained from the bower and thus making it a +2 bow.
So we'll pick this up next time still in the cave because there is still that unobtainable treasure guarded by....????

Session Wrap-Up
So a quick run down on where everything is at:
Thovin's, Arg's and Wolf's souls have been sucked into the crystal. They're not dead, but for all intents and purposes they're out of the game for now. I'll send them an email with some additional information. As the tower fell, the white bodies turned to dust as well, influenced by the magic of the Gem.
Baron Blackmoor, who was to claim himself king of Eir'ian is now dead, slain by Televon who has been forsaken by his god Morpheus for his epic betrayal of the faith. He has lost all cleric abilities. The sword he has is none other than Blackrazor (more on that below) and Morpheus is not pleased - or perhaps he is 'testing' Televon's faith? Oh, and Televon is wearing the armor of the Black Church. Soldiers loyal to Blackmoor see Televon as a member of the Black Church and see them also responsible for the murder of Blackmoor.
Skwanky is in possession of the Heart of Inverness - the Soul Gem. Skwanky's skin, hair, armor, weapons are all burnt white - and he's wearing a bejeweled crown upon his head so those sell-swords see him as the new king; the Tiny White King, and expect to be paid for their efforts in the battle of Caladan.
Quest EXP (recovery of Soul Gem): 1,000
Blackrazor’s blade is as black as the night sky and sparkles with the stars of alien constellations. The chill of the endless void emanates from Blackrazor, and those who stare into its blade too long get the eerie feeling that the stars within are slowly drifting closer...
1. +3 Chaotic Neutral Greatsword,- Purpose: To devour souls
2. Any Lawful character attempting to wield BR takes 15 damage and is stunned for 1-4 rounds. Thereafter, the character has a severe aversion to BR and all rolls (combat and checks) are at disadvantage while BR is within sight. Characters/creatures can use an action each round to make a Con save to end the effect.
3. Detect living creatures (souls) 60’. Detection is blocked by 6" of stone/1" of iron.
4. Grants Haste to user 1/day
5. Advantage on saves vs. charm and fear
6. Any creature killed by BR has its soul devoured and cannot be raised by any means.
7. If BR does not feed for 3 days, it will dominate its user and force it to kill.
8. If BR strikes a negative energy being, user loses 3d6 HP and save (Con:15) or stunned for 1-4 rounds.
9. When someone is killed, effective level for combat purposes increased by their hit dice. Bonus lasts for a number of turns equal to the number of levels received.

Gnarly just wants to escape the chaos and get high - but I don't think that will be happening any time soon.
Maximus
the Giant Slayer is in possession of Zadir's spellbook and staff.
The
Soul Gem is a powerful magic item and after the fall of Caladan, word
of it spread quickly and there are a number of factions after it.
Diskus, who was secretly working for the Brotherhood of the Black Hand,
knows who has the gem (The Little White King) at this time and, thus, so
does the Brotherhood of the Black Hand. The Black Church is after it
and knows who has it but they are also implicated in the murder of
Blackmoor. The temple of Mithra, allies to Blackmoor and enemies of the
Black Church are out to wipe out the Black Church once and for all in a
holy war. The priests of Morpheus and allies to Blackmoor will become
aware of their fallen priest and the murder of Blackmoor and, well, you
know. With the power vacuum in Caladan and hundreds of soldiers and
unpaid sell-swords, Caladan will be in chaos just three days after
'liberation' from Utasu and Zadir. Of course, there may be other more
sinister forces that hear about the Soul Gem and who has it and may come
to claim it - and there's plenty of them.
